Now that I'm in Advanced Art, I can finally do all my projects in a related field that I want. In this case, I already chose that I would want all my projects to be "Dream-like" just as how my first graphic design project turned out to be. The reason why I decided to make my projects "Dream-like" is because I really like how my very first photoshop turned out to be, so I decided to keep on following that "Dream-like" world of art. I really like this piece and the way it turned out to be because it looks simple but yet really good. The only technique that I used for this piece was the rule of thirds, and because of this rule the piece ended up turning out much better than what I first had in mind.
Nothing really motivated me to start this piece, but what gave me the idea was from my other projects that I completed in this past. The ideas that were coming to my head were my "One Big Puzzle" and "Yin & Yang". I really wanted to create another piece involving the change of time all in one photo. When I first started I intended to add the yin & yang, but it wasn't really turning out that good in the end. The tools that I used for this project were a variety of colors of acrylic paint and a pencil. I tired to use a blending technique for this piece but when I got towards the night side it was getting harder to blend compared to the sunny side. Overall, by the way it turned out, I feel like I didn't do that good of a job with this piece because I had to rush it in order to get this done.
I created this piece to represent where I was from. Before brainstorming, I had two ideas that I wanted to work with. One being an idea involving using an outline of an animal while creating an image in or around the outline. The other being an idea that involved creating, or pairing, a piece that showed my hometown. While drawing out outlines of multiple animals, I had the idea to why not just combine both ideas? I thought it would of been an amazing idea. This is how I decided to do the outline of the California grizzly bear and an image of my hometown. To create this piece I used two watercolor papers and a piece of drawing paper. I also used watercolor paint and my watercolor brushes. I didn't really use any specific techniques, but what I did do during the process was remove how dark the orange color was on some places. It was a bit difficult trying to blend in the colors with one another but in the end it all worked out.

For my last project of the semester, I really wanted to get my focus back onto photoshop. At first I didn't know what to exactly work on, so I decided to look online of amazing images that have been made or edited through photoshop. Most of what I saw that really caught my attention was how photoshop was implied through photoshop onto "models". Not those professional "models" just someone who could provide poses for the photographer. It really caught my attention, so I decided to try it out. I had my good friend Alex pose for a couple of pictures since I decided I would of like to done my photoshop ideas onto him. Out of all the finished images that I did, for some reason, I believe they're done, but at the same time they don't feel like they're complete. For most of these pictures my goal was to change the appearance of Alex and apply some type of fantasy feel onto it. I didn't want to add more images onto the background and what not since my main focus was to alter the model himself.
When I first started the brainstorming process of this project, I was struggling because I didn't know exactly what I wanted to make. I spent time on the internet trying to get ideas, spent time looking at work of other artist, but I wasn't getting any amazing ideas across my head. Since time was going by fast, I decided to just take one of my ideas of my previous work and make a new one with a different method, in this case painting. My goal was to create a piece that would pop out by the way I painted the colors. It was pretty hard to do so because when I tried to blend my colors there would either be too much white or too much blue which would throw it off. To create this piece I had to use acrylic paint, some get for my paint to be transparent, and masking tape for the straight lines at the bottom. Overall I would say that this project turned out to be somewhat successful because of how the colors came out. It does need some extra paint on some areas which I would apply to later with fresh paint.

When I was first thinking of this idea for Project 2 this semester, I never really had anything that had me inspired to continue trying to make more artwork from photography. Photography is just something that I caught myself doing which turned out to be something I actually like. I didn't start with certain poses that I wanted my friend to pose, so I just had him pose however he wanted to. After I had all the photos, I just pulled up each image and just started to mess with some of them until I had an idea for a couple. For each photo, depending on their pose, I tried to edit/create a similar theme that would somewhat reflect. For example, in the photo where my friend Alex is standing in the hallway, I tried to mix a feel of darkness with a small portion of my concentration of fantasy as well.

This project consists of a collection of photos, including their edits, that I did for me and my friends. The purpose of these photos were for them to be shown in our graduation's slideshow of the Class of 2016. Tools and materials that were used in order to accomplish these photos are a camera, photoshop, and good natural lighting (Ex: Sunset). It was pretty easy for me to decide the variety of poses that I had my friends do and where the photos should be taken because for me it's pretty easy, or natural, to decide how the composition of each of the photos should be. I think the reason for this is because I'm always on social media, looking at many photos and poses which affects how I think photos should be taken, or at least some good ideas. The only photo that wasn't really planned was the first one in the slideshow above; it was a photo that had just happened in which the he liked very much, so I simply did the edit part for that one, adding more blue which complimented the water and his clothes.
When I first started thinking of this idea, I knew I originally wanted to make a piece that involved some type of connection. By this I mean some type of connection between the model and whatever it was I were to add/make. In this case, it was my friend Martin and his connection/passion for soccer. Tools/materials that were used in order to create this piece were the application Photoshop and a camera to take photo photos. Techniques that I used for this piece was layer masking. This is how I got all of the images to show up mainly all in one. I believe that this piece to other may look simple, but it's not. It actually took quite some time, mainly because of the amount of cropping that had to be done, but there's many photos on here that all relate to the same connection, and that is his passion, what he loves doing.
